Vergil Brighteyes is an Amadician Drin of the Grey Tower.

Description

Vergil is a very distrusting man. He is tall, dark, and handsome. Scowling and gruff, he has the softest heart for kids that is possible. His eyes are the unusal gold, that marks him a wolfkin, but they used to be an unreadable black, and he looks older then he is.

His hands are big and some think of him as a woman beater, when he is in fact quite the opposite. Vergil has a mark on his arm that was etched by a brand. It is the Sunburst of the Whitecloaks.

Biography

Vergil had an exam coming up, and wanting to practice in case of a practical portion of the exam showed up, he went to the Channeling Yard after dark.

Entering, he saw no one around, which was perfect.

Seizing the source Vergil chose a rock and weaving Fire into it, made it emit heat. Foolishly holding that weave, he started to weave a fireball, creating a mat of Fire and placing Air through it. As he was pulling it tightly into a ball, he started to feel really warm.

He had put more Fire into the Rock then he had thought and had hit his limit. As he went over his limit by preparing to push to fireball, he started to absorb more of the Source. He couldn't stop the flow of Molten ice, and Frozen fire from becoming a torrent.

He vaguely heard someone screaming and realized it was himself. He watched himself, detached, as he was consumed by the Source. There was a huge flash of light, and then Vergil was swallowed by the darkness.

When Vergil woke up, he looked around and felt extreme pain in his head. The Yard was almost completely the same as when Vergil passed out. Staggering to his feet, pain shot through ever muscle in his body. Stumbling to the infirmary Vergil almost knocked over a petite Aes Sedai as he collapsed again. He felt strong hands on his shoulders, and felt himself lifted into the air. Being set down on a bed he opened his eyes and looked into the pale blue eyes of the Warder that had carried him. "Thank you." Vergil was able to get out before he passed out again.

Awaking in the Infirmary, Vergil saw the same Warder that was there before. "It is good to see you awake, young man. What is your name? I'm Melad Payloch."

"I'm Vergil Brighteyes." and under the kind gaze of the Warder, Vergil told him everything that had happened. Nodding the Warder said to him, "I was also a Channeler once, and the pain of not being able to channel almost killed me. But as you can see, I'm here. I found that I could save my friends if I joined the Warders. Think about it Vergil. I shall see you later."

The Warder walked out and Vergil never really saw him again. Some say he was killed, and others say he's out fighting the Dark One's spawn, but Vergil thinks that he's still at the Tower over looking him.

Vergil lay in the infirmary for three days thinking about ending his life, and thinking about what the Warder Melad said. Falling asleep, Vergil entered the World of Dreams for the second time. The first time, Akela, the leader of his pack, had found him and lead him home. Raksha had become his wolf mother, and he was widely accepted by the rest of the pack.

A wolf came bounding out of the bushes. Brighteyes, Akela needs you!

I'll follow you, Raksha. As Raksha ran back into the bushes Vergil followed her.

Akela, the first wolf he had contact with was lying on the ground, with a Neverborn approaching him. Pulling out his long sword Vergil jumped over Akela, and attacked the Neverborn. Swing his sword up, Vergil knocks the sword out of the Shadowrunners hands. Beheading it in a simple slash, Vergil turned back to Akela. Are you okay Akela? What can I do to help?

Brighteyes, I need you to help the pack carry me back to the den. Anything at all Akela.

Straightening, Vergil carefully picked up Akela, and followed Raksha back to the Den. Laying Akela down, Vergil heard howling. Turning he saw the others of the pack welcoming Akela and Raksha home. Brighteyes, I shall be fine now, it's only a small matter of time to heal. Nodding, Vergil suddenly woke in his bed.

If I kill myself, then who will help Akela and Raksha if they need it? I'll continue on with life no matter how the Wheel Weaves my path.

He looked around and noticed that Esme had been to visit. There was a single flower on his bedside table. It was a white carnation, and Vergil knew that it was from her because it was white.

And so deciding on his path to the Warders, Vergil sat on the edge of his bed and got his clothes on. Standing, Vergil strapped his sword onto his hip and pulled his boots on. Leaving his Soldier's uniform on the bed, folded neatly Vergil walked out of the Infirmary. As he walked to the Gaidin Captain's office, Vergil thought of the people who had helped him decide against committing suicide. Melad, Esme, Akela, and Raksha. Sending up a prayer to the Creator for allowing him the good fortune to know them.

Upon reaching the Gaidin Captain's office, Vergil hesitated before knocking. Is this the right thing? Vergil thought as his hand hovered over the door. He almost turned away, but steeled himself and knocked.
