Sulinn Ailyana is an Aiel Green Oathsworn Aes Sedai of the Grey Tower.

Description

Sulinn looks nearly identical to her Altaran father, with olive toned skin that shows her every muscle tone beautifully. She has long black hair that hangs down her back in tumbling waves, glistening blue and purple under the light. However, she maintains some of her Aiel mother's height, standing just over six feet tall with an elegance and poise that few question. When she is studying, she will almost always set her hair in a thick braid which will hang free down her back and out of her face. Her features are elegant and scream Altaran nobility - with almond shaped tilted eyes that are pale blue/grey in colouring - just like her mother's. Her lips are full, but not overly so, and compliment her high arching cheekbones well. Though her sharp square jawline makes her look a lot more severe than she truly is.

Her face rarely shows emotion, except for amusement, and when she smiles a set of particularly fantastic dimples flash in her cheeks and straight pale teeth emerge behind her full lips. All other emotions, love, hatred, interest and fear require the same straight faced reaction from her. Never elliciting so much as a line in her forehead or tension in her cheeks, it is merely those beautiful blue-grey eyes that show it. Glistening bright when happy, and glittering maliciously when she gets ready to pull her sword.

Unlike her mother, she chose her father's typical weapon and works with his old family sword. A sharp scythe like blade with a emerald inlaid handle set in silver and gold, it is constantly upon her back - along with the dagger strapped at her thigh and in her boot. She rarely asks before attacking, always believing it easier to ask forgiveness than permission, and thus never questioned her choice of Ajah. Green - Green for the love her mother shared, and Green for her battle. She has already mastered the cool demenor typical of the Aes Sedai, but has yet to master the gifts which the maker has left with her.

Time has not been kind to the Aes Sedai, for as she gained agelessness she also gained insanity. The scars on her back from her exodus are the only physical manifestation of the damage to her heart and mind. The torture affected her in more way than one.

She is still tall, beautiful and athletic, but somwhere inside of her blue eyes lies a different person entirely. Someone crazed, someone who has lost everything and gained nothing. She now feels like she has nothing to lose, that everyone is out to kill her, and as such - she has no fear. The oaths are irrelevant to the truly crazy, for she believes in all honesty that everyone in the tower is out to kill her.

She is truly dangerous, interact with her with only the greatest caution.

Biography

Sulinn's father Moram Ailyana was born of a minor noble family of Altara. His father was a wealthy young nobleman with a penchant for travel, his mother; equally obsessed with learning about the world. On a whim they took most of their fortune and their eldest son and set off to travel the world for a span of four years - setting foot on most of the seaboard before heading towards Shienar from Cairhien. By some mysterious twist of fate, a wrong turn led them deep into the Aiel Wastes. The vicious heat soon destroyed both his mother and father, leaving him alone in the wilderness of the wild desert as a young child.

A Young Aiel wise woman found the child and could not find it in her heart to kill him in all of his sickly innocence. Instead, she took him and raised him to be an Aielman, as one of her own children. She had another son who was much older then Moram, and a young daughter who was the same age and training to be a Maiden. The young girl Aeidann took it upon her self to teach the nobleman the dance of spears, and over time a deep and mad love developed between the two. As soon as they were old enough, the two wed and she willingly gave up her spears for him. Hoping that one day they would give birth to a child that would be wor thy of his home and her beliefs. For as much as she loved her wastelands, she knew that her child would be born with a gift - a gift far too powerful to leave behind. They had no difficulties becoming pregnant with their first child, but found themselves unable to have any more. So the wheel turns, Moram always said, and at the urgings of Aeidann he gave Sulinn his Altaran last name. Allowing her the opportunity to seize her heritage if she should choose to do so.

For nearly thirteen years she was trained as a maiden before weird things started to happen. She began to channel in her sleep, only in her sleep, and for three years the incidences became more and more severe until she became a danger to her family. The Wise ones struggled, recognizing her gifts but unable to cure her of the block that plagued her. She had been far beyond their knowledge, far beyond most of their power to cure, and so she had just trained for the dance of spears. Taking her fathers sword instead of the typical spears or war hammers of her mother's beloved homeland and after a few years of begging; Moram eventually gave her the emerald inlaid silver and gold katana. A weapon that now remains strapped to her back at all times, though two small daggers remain in her boots and one around her right thigh.

She had opted for an atypical dress of breeches and blouses instead of the usual Aiel clothes of choice, for she found the ease of movement to be irreplaceable. Thats not to say she never wore gowns, or robes - but even her mother understood her preference. Life had become a fine line of treachery and danger, until one day her mother and one of the wise ones went for an endless walk through the Aiel Wastelands - never explaining why they had the need to go alone but only that there was no choice. That night, her mother gave to Sulinn a family heirloom which was passed from mother to eldest daughter for the lengthy history of her family; it was an elegant blunt tipped dagger with a bone carved hilt. It was magical, she had said, a ter'angreal of great power. But the young untrained maiden had not understood the importance of that word, nor the implications it would have on her future. The dagger, a twin to the Dull Dagger, would hide her from shadowspawn so long as she had it on her person. She merely eyed the dull blade and smirked, but promised her mother never to give it up until she had a daughter of her own who had need of its power.

Her mother never returned, though both Sulinn and Moram waited, and finally Moram declared his desire to leave. The wasteland was not right without his beloved, and Sulinn felt the call to follow him away from the only home she had ever known. Though she never quite made it to Ebou Dar and her fathers estates, instead, she said her farewell to her father at the same cross road that had eluded his family earlier in his life and travelled to Tar Valon. She needed to learn, for his safety and hers, how to control her gifts. She needed to understand the way, the one power, and herself.

She needed the Aes Sedai.
