Description

She is of medium height and build just coming into her own. Her hair is a stunning chestnut brown which can sometimes hide her sparkling chestnut eyes. She will treat kindness with kindness but get her mad and she will retaliate. She smiles frequently which makes it seem like her face is radiating light. But when she scowls her face darkens scaring most people. When questioning something she will raise one eyebrow higher than the other.

Biography

She wiped a spot of rain off her cheek as she looked towards the Grey Tower. She had heard of it's creation but had not realized what it had looked like. She stared in awe at the buildings that housed it. She patted her gelding on the neck as she moved towards it.

She remembered what had brought her here. An Aes Sedai had stopped into her village with her Warder on the way back to the Tower. Serrah had worked at the Inn at that time just earning a few coins. Her mother, the village wisdom, had warned her of Aes Sedai. Saying that one day they would be coming to take her away. Her mother was a wilder and to old for training, or so she said. But Serrah had the spark born into her so she was easy prey for a travelling Aes Sedai and her warder. The Innkeeper had set Serrah to fetch anything the Aes Sedai wanted so Serrah had to encounter her every time the Aes Sedai wanted something.

Then the day came. The Aes Sedai and her warder had been in the village for nearly three days. That final day Serrah was bringing a pot of tea to the Aes Sedai's room when she encountered the Warder, "Ah I see your bringing the tea good. She has wanted to see you."

Serrah nodded then knocked on the Aes Sedai's door, "Come in child."

Serrah obeyed as she had been taught to do. After entering she noticed the Aes Sedai was sitting on the stoll near the table, "You may place the tea her child but before you go I must ask you a question."

Serrah nodded and set the tea down not wishing to really speak, "What is your name child?"

"Serrah al'Brennan, Aes Sedai."

"And your mother?"

"She is the village wisdom Aes Sedai."

"I see.," said the Aes Sedai and she nodded to a chair, "Sit child. I have a test for you."

Serrah obeyed and sat at the other stool which was dirrectly accross from the Aes Sedai, "Now I will embrace the One Power and create a flame and then explain the procedure to you. I have sensed the spark in you and wish to see if you can pass the test. If you do I will need to explain to your mother that you must be enrolled in the Tower at once."

"Yes Aes Sedai," Said Serrah in a resigned tone. She knew her fate.

As Serrah watched a warm glow surrounded the Aes Sedai and a flame appeared in the Aes Sedai's hand, "Now child you must picture Saidar as a flower. Let the petals fall until the very center, where Saidar rests, to lie open to you. Surrender yourself to Saidar and let it fill you with it's joy and warmth but don't draw too heavily upon it or it may burn you out. Can you do that for me?"

"Yes Aes Sedai," and Serrah pictured a rose and began to let the petals fall.

With her eyes closed she could only hear the Aes Sedai mutter phrases such as, "Good child, Release yourself." And other such compliments. Soon Serrah got to the center and saw the warm glowe of Saidar and gave herself completely to the light. She heard the Aes Sedai gasp as the glow of Saidar over took her.

"Good child. Now open your eyes and take the flame from my hand."

Serrah did as she was told and held out her cupped hands. The Aes Sedai placed the flame carefully into Serrah's hands and watched as it flashed brilliantly and was slightly bigger than before, "Excellant child. Now we must inform your mother. You will have to leave for Elman's Creek immediately. For you see I am of the Grey Tower not the White. Unfortunately I will not be able to go with you. I recieved a message yesterday that requires me to go elsewhere. It will be left to you to go to there alone."

Serrah nodded and followed the Aes Sedai as she stood and went to her home. SHe stayed outside as she heard her mother argue with the Aes Sedai and the Aes Sedai reply in calm soothing words. Soon the Aes Sedai came out and smiled and nodded to Serrah, "Tomorrow you leave for the Grey Tower but I must leave tonight. Be safe on your journey Serrah al'Brennan."

Serrah did not sleep well that night and firt thing in the morning her mother kissed her good bye and gave her a few provisions. That had been two days ago.

Serrah looked around her as the rain continued to fall gently on the road to the Tower. This was the moment of truth. She stopped short of the gates and climbed down off her horse and addressed the guard on duty, "My name is Serrah al'Brennan and I am here to apply to become a novice in the Tower."
