Peter al'Norn is an Andoran Ji'val of the Grey Tower.
Description
Pete is broad shouldered and thickly built. His features are all large and heavy in his face, particularly his broad flattish nose. It leaves his relatively normally sized ears looking delicate and dainty. He is sensitive about his height but tries not to act as if he feels short. His most hearty laugh tends to sound like a throaty guffaw. It never lasts long and you are more likely to evoke a grunt of mirth through a quirked sideways smile. He approaches all new relationships as if they will inevitably be adversarial. If one can be patient and persistent enough to gain Pete's trust, he is a fierce and protective friend.
Biography
Pete has no memory of his parents. He is not sure if they were Andoran or if they were from elsewhere. He does not know how they died or even if they actually died. He was raised as an orphan in Hama Valon at the House of Hope. The old woman who raised him died when he was thirteen. For four more years he lived there and worked to help keep the House in good repair and take care of the younger children and the poor and sick that sometimes stayed there.
When he was seventeen, Pete walked into the Grey Tower and asked to join the Warder Yards to be trained. He stated his purpose was to be prepared to fight alongside an Aes Sedai in the last battle. Secretly, confided to no one, Pete longs for acceptance. He hopes that through his training, he may become bonded as a warder and through that bond finally find the connection of a family.
During his training, he has made few friends but among them is Ubriel Bryne whom he calls Runt. She calls him Brute and he feels as if he has found his baby sister. They do not share many of the same interests in weapons or classes except for a fascination with the historic battles that have shaped their world.
