Malisandar Tierael is an Altaran Novice of the Grey Tower.

Biography

Malisandra was born the oldest child of house Tierael. She is tall for an Altaran, but with the typical altaran look: dark hair which she wears long, big dark brown eyes and the usual olive complexion that most Altarans have. She had one slightly younger brother, but he was killed in a duel when he was 13, which is a great source of pride for her mother. The manor of House Tierael sits about midway between Ebou Dar and the Altaran border to the north, but Malisandra often enjoyed wandering the streets of Ebou Dar, where she often found herself fighting duels over the smallest of slights because of her temper, which was short even for an Altaran.

Despite enjoying Ebou Dar, Malisandra despised the queen, and no one in her family paid heed to any direct order from the queen when it could be avoided without war. Unfortunately for Malisandra, one occasion arose which they could not ignore. It was just some ball to celebrate one thing or another, but her parents claimed Tylin would take offense if they weren't in attendance, and an offense of that sort could lead to war.

Malisandra was glad to find her cousin on her mother's side in attendance as well, they had similar feelings about the queen, and were friends as well. As was their custom when they went to these balls, they stood in the corner, laughing quietly about various guests. It was when they were ready to leave that a regal woman approached them. Malisandra couldn't put an age to her. It was that woman that informed them they could both channel. Exactly a week later they were more or less dragged to the Grey Tower to start their training. Malisandra was apprehensive about what was to come, but the Aes Sedai had left them little chance to refuse going to the tower.

Malisandra, as previously mentioned, can have a fiery temper, but except when slighted she hides it well under a calm exterior. Her exterior also hides an intelligent mind and a very manipulative nature, which if she applied she could play daes dae'mar as well as most Cairhien nobles. She used her manipulative skills to gain the edge in most situations. She also thinks within lines of strict logic, and she finds it irritating when people don't see the same logic in all situations.
