Kaiode Omisoro is a Saldaean Ji'val of the Grey Tower,

Description

Although tall for his country at 5'11, Kaiode is otherwise unremarkable to look at. Dark brown/black hair and eyes, and of slim build, he spends most of his time in the background - something he very much prefers. His (for a Saldaean) quiet nature, born of spending so much time hunting in the woods, gives the impression he is more serious than is actually the case. That he uses his hunting skills and agility for practical jokes often goes unnoticed, as he and his friends are rarely even considered to be the culprits, being the sensible men they are. If only their 'victims' had heard the mischievous laughter, they would have known without question.

A typical Saldaean in many ways, Kaiode tends towards strong personalities and has a determined streak that often sets him against challenges the more prudent would avoid. Wary of strangers, but open and relaxed among close friends, he is most at home listening to one of his sisters play a cittern while mending the tools of his hunting.

Biography

The second youngest of four children, Kaiode has three sisters. As the only son of relatively prominent fur traders in Saldaea, he has spent much of his time chaperoning his sisters to social events, where his height was often useful in dissuading the attentions of unwanted suitors. Of course, he could hold his own among his contemporaries, but a peaceable solution was always preferable in a country where steel is only drawn to be used.

Taught in the ways of the family business, he learned the source of their income at an early age. Travelling out into the Black Hills with the trappers, he first hunted rabbits and foxes, progressing to larger animals as his skill grew and he was allowed to go out with the more experienced men.

Despite his love of hunting, not to mention the celebrations after a large successful sale, Kaiode had no desire to follow into the family business. Instead, like many young men, he wished for adventure and exploring. - A result perhaps, of listening to too many tales from travelling merchants. The natural path for a Borderlander looking for danger and excitement would be to join the army, and for Kaiode, as an accomplished horseman, the famed Saldaean cavalry would have been his first choice. However, the merchants had brought stories of the Grey Tower in the Southlands, which captivated him from their first telling. Soon he began to seek out these story tellers, even paying to hear Gleemen, as he found himself drawn more and more to this place of wonder.

Eventually reaching the age of 20, Kaiode approached his parents to ask for their blessing to travel and seek acceptance for training at the Grey Tower. Realising that he did not want to stay in Saldaea, and with daughters perfectly capable of taking over the business, his parents consented and he set out for the Misty Mountains.
