Jhered Khalor is a Kandori Gaidin of the Grey Tower.

Description

Like most of his nation, Jhered is tall. He stands at roughly 6'2". He is also lean in his muscular build, honed after his years of training both in his home land and in the Tower to be a Warder. He keeps his pale hair cut short near his ears and long ago let go of the forked beard common to Kandori men, choosing to keep his face clean of hair.

Personality wise, he's a fairly typical child of the Blight Border. He is strong willed and stubborn, as well as inventive and loyal. He is ardently opposed to the Shadow. Like the fairly typical oldest child, he has a deeply ingrained sense of responsibility and is mature beyond most men his age, always has been.

Biography

Jhered was born as the oldest of what would be six children, all boys. His father is a Kandori merchant and his mother is a baker. Taking after his father, Jhered was very mature from an early age and being followed by five children only enhanced this. He took great responsibility for helping his parents to watch over his younger siblings, because growing up in a village in a Blight Border nation made life dangerous. Jhered took it as his responsibility that the danger of the Blight shouldn't take any of his brothers.

When he was old enough, Jhered began to train in fighting and weapons. Such training was very easy to come by and very important. He geared his training to be able to travel with his father and help protect him, and his goods and anyone who traveled with them. Sometimes his father took part in merchant caravans. As each of his brothers grew up, he helped to train them in what he had learned so that they could protect themselves, their family, their home and help Jhered to defend his father and caravan, if they traveled with them. The brothers would work well together and learn how to work at the edge of the Blight.

Eventually, Jhered made the decision that the training of their home wasn't enough. He wanted to be better and to know more, so he made the difficult decision to travel to the Grey Tower: a place he had learned of from traveling Aes Sedai and their strong, skilled Gaidin and Gaidar Warders. He had no concept of becoming an Asha'man, which was good because he had no talent. He wanted to become a Gaidin and this was the path he pursued. He traveled at the age of nineteen with all intention to reach his goal and return home to train his brothers further.

Jhered reached the Tower. He learned quickly that his desires would take more effort than he ever thought it would, but he was determined. Borderlanders don't back down, and he never did and eventually achieved the fancloak. He then made good on his promise and he returned to Kandor and taught his brothers some of what he had learned. He could not teach them to become Gaidin, but he was able to give them more knowledge of weapons and fighting than they had before. Every Borderland knew combat as part of their blood, but the Tower had knowledge far wider and broader. Jhered brought this home. However, he found he could no longer live the narrow life and had to pursue the path of the Gaidin.
