Jesinne 'Jesi' Molari was a Mayener Accepted of the Grey Tower.

Description

Jesi is of average height, with dark brown hair that, when allowed to go free, falls in wild curls to her mid-back. Her eyes are also brown, and her skin is the sun-kissed bronze of one who has spent most of her life outside. She has an infectious laugh, and her smile can light up a room. She takes good care of her health, appreciating the power of possessing both physical strength and just the right amount of feminine cushion. Having lived on a farm for most of her life, Jesi delights in fine clothing the way a starving man might enjoy food, exploring fashions from every known nation, in every color in the rainbow.

Jesi is physically affectionate, gregarious, and overtly flirtatious with those she is attracted to. She loves to joke and laugh, although her sense of humor verges on scandalous. She generally does not tell falsehoods- not out of any particular moral qualm, but because she tells them poorly.

Although she definitely prefers less onerous activities, Jesi is not afraid of hard work. However, she struggles with the day to day doldrums of being a novice. She does not enjoy “book learning,” preferring to read adventure romance novels and take a more hands-on approach with her studies. Needless to say, this preference does not translate well into the world of theory and politics that she has been catapulted into.

She has perpetrated an impressive array of complicated pranks on those she feels are a little too full of themselves, many of which she escaped from without punishment. Total boredom (and perhaps a stubborn streak) drove her to attempt to runaway on three separate occasions. After serving penance for her third flight, she seems to have settled down a bit (much to the relief of her Aes Sedai instructors).

Biography

Jesinne Molari grew up on an enormous farm (perhaps more accurately a plantation) on the peninsula just north of Mayene city. The land supported not only Jesi’s family, but also a small village of workers and their kin. Her father ensured the land continued to produce good food; her mother ensured that food was traded away at best possible value to their community. They believed that no one was too good for the hard labor that kept their farm ticking, and therefore Jesi and her brother Tomas took turns working with their parents, helping in the fields, and caring for the sundry other aspects of farm life that came up on a daily basis.

It was a good life, and Jesi had little to complain about. However, as she grew older she would trade for books with the Tinkers and peddlers and stay up late reading about faraway places, fabulous adventures, and star-crossed lovers. Eventually her curiosity got the better of her rambunctious brain; she wrote a note to her parents and hitched a ride with the Tinkers to Mayene. Once there she traded her few trinkets for ship passage to Tear- and as far as her family knew, vanished.

The young Mayener did quite well for herself, however. Most taverns would hire a good-looking maid at a moment’s notice, after all, and she was able to save enough gold for her next adventure in short order. Then she traveled upriver to Aringill, and then by land until she reached Caemlyn. Her luck in her endeavors may have had more to do with the One Power than it did with elbow grease and flirty smiles, although she certainly had no idea she was channeling. As happens with Wilders, she began to fall ill. Some of her employers were more understanding than others, but eventually patience ran thin for each of them and they would turn her away.

An Aes Sedai of the Grey Tower happened upon one such establishment just as the landlord was evicting the Mayener. It did not take much for the Yellow to realize what was happening, and bundle Jesi away for training.

Thus began a new chapter in the young woman’s life. The idea of becoming Aes Sedai utterly fascinated her, but the amount of time they expected her to devote to training was overwhelming- and not at all as glamorous as the stories had described it. And yet...she had to learn. And thus, step by reluctant step, Jesi began her path to the shawl.
