Gwilym Tournen is an Illianer Gaidin of the Grey Tower.
Description
Gwilym is a friendly person, his mind set is that of a gentle giant's. His temper calm and collective and his concentration equaled. He is a deeply honorable man, in that when he makes a promise he keeps it. He likes to have a good laugh and is not troubled by violence.
Gwilym's body is well built with muscles and very little fat. In addition to his strength and height he is relatively athletic. Able to jump and duck over many of the training instruments. But his main asset is his size - just the sheer size of him is enough for some people to turn and run in fear. Gwilym has long black hair, pale blue eyes and large feet and hands.
Gwilym skills lie in the use of swords, fighting pikes and unarmed combat. He also knows field medicine (being a farmer's son) and is able to live off the land. His abilities are unknown.
Biography
Gwilym was brought up the son of farmers in the small coastal town of Illian. The town of Illian was rather dull and boring with the routine of every day living - its only plus was the fact that the town's folk were a friendly bunch.
Other children marked Gwilym as somewhat of a freak due to his size. His parents were tall (6'6" and 5'11" respectively) and were the reason for his size. His size along with the hard physical work he did conditioned his body well, with very little body fat.
Gwilym's spirit was that of an explorer's and from age 14 he ventured through the plains of Maredo and up to the Hills of Kintara. Usually upon arrival home he received a scalding from his mother.
At the age of 17 he awoke to the house on fire, he rushed to his parents room to find it totally engulfed in flames. Gwilym got out of the burning building and grieved for his dead parents - it was soon after that he left Illian.
His travels lead him to seek out a trainer by the name of Koran - a man whose training was of a merchant guard, but one who taught them. He learned many skills in sword fighting and unarmed combat - it wasn't until he was out exploring that he realized what his calling was.
He went off in search for the Grey Tower and to become an honored Warder.
