Foxill Madrim is an Altaran Wolfkin and Ji'val of the Grey Tower.

Description

Foxill is a little below average height, with dark brown hair and olive skin which has tanned to nearly the color of mahogany. His eyes are the distinctive golden color of a Wolfbrother. His clothing is usually Altaran in style: a long vest, with or without a shirt, loose pants, and a curved knife at his belt.

Biography

Foxill grew up traveling with his father, an Altaran merchant. As a result, his outlook is fairly cosmopolitan; he is familiar, and comfortable, with most of the various customs of the major nations. He is also less excitable than most of his fellow Altarans; in particular, he doesn't feel compelled to challenge people to duels at a moment's notice.

At one point during their travels, Foxill's eyes changed color and he started hearing voices, of a sort, in his head. The golden eyes made trading more difficult, and the voices made him doubt his sanity; so, after consulting with his father, Foxill left the caravan and struck out on his own. He has been drifting through the Westlands for about two years now, searching for anyone who can explain what happened to him. He earns his way as a caravan guard and sometime Thief-taker, making judicious use of his abilities as a Wolfbrother.

As an Altaran, he knows how to fight with a knife; and his experience as a guard has given him a passing acquaintance with swordwork, and rather better skills with the spear and the bow.

Foxill misses his brown eyes; he never quite recognizes himself when looks in a mirror. He has figured out that most of the "voices" were actually wolves trying to talk to him, but he still worries about his sanity. There is a sort of presence in the back of his mind, which he thinks of as his wolf-self, which sometimes helps him and sometimes tries to direct his actions; he fears that someday it may take him over completely.
