Yellow Ajah Weave

The air in his lungs seemed no more. A thought went through his head that he would be nothing if this was his way of leaving the world. A thought. That was it. As soon as the number flashed, "18", He took up saidin and began the delving weave.

It was simple really. In a class room setting he could do this 100 times and have next to no mistakes with it. This was not a class room, he had to think of this as a battle field and that he had to do everything perfect the first time. There was no room for second guessing.

The net of spirit was in his hands. Everything went black...

Yellow Ajah Step

The world was spinning and shifting around him before he realized where he was. He found himself back in his village. Just down the road was his house that he left his sister at after leaving for the Tower. I almost seemed like nothing here had changed since the first day that he left. Things were a bit different from when he came back for her death, but not to much.

A clinking noise it was got his attention. Turning around he saw something that he had never seen in this village before. That was his sign that this was not the real world. People in his village were to nice and understanding to let this happen.

A child in rags was sitting against a wall holding out a cup begging for some coin. That was not what stood out though. Every couple of minutes she would cough and it was rather racking. There were people passing by her and not ever looking at her. He knew that this was not his home. This place was not real.

Moving over to the child, Deek kneels down to examine her and see if there was anything obviously wrong with her. After a moment he remembered the number eighteen. That was the number that appeared in blood just before this fake place did.

He had never let go of saidin and he never would. He knew exactly what weave he needed for this mission. The only question was what would his friend and master Lucan have done in this situation. He knew Lucan could be cold and cruel but he never thought of him to do anything negative towards a child. So he would continue to follow that path.

Taking up spirit he weaved a net of it and place it into the child, letting it spread throughout her body to find the reason for her cough.

Stepping up onto the Green stair he waited for whatever would come to him this time. He kept his calm and collected stature that he always had. when the axe went past his face he did not have the same reaction that most people would. At first thought he reached in his coat and grabbed the handle of a throwing dagger until he saw the bloody numbers on the axes as they passed. "78". Not the best way to learn weaves, but it was a system for when things got hard and you could not think right away.

Deek took up fire and earth and streaked spirit through it. This was more of a trap type of weave than anything. You could place this on the ground and when someone walked over it then it would explode. It was the fire and earth that would explode. The spirit was how the trap worked. It would hold it until someone walked over it and then it would go off.

Again he was in his village. Something was different this time. People were scattered and nothing was organized. To Deek it almost seemed like there was about to be a battle. Only one thought crossed his mind. Please do not let it be anything to do with the Black Ajah. It did not help though.

The village elder came running to him. "Deek, oh Deek thank the Light that you are here. We need your help. There are Trollocs coming. And there is some sort of 'thing' leading them up the road. Please what do we do?"

"Calm down sir. Place what archers you have on the buildings to the front and anyone that has pikes between the two buildings. I will take care of them. Tell your archers to aim for the leaders. One at a time we can take them down."

With that he moved towards the building roof tops to get a good aim. He could see the leaders. Making the weave of fire earth and spirit he laid it down in front of the leaders. They were stupid enough to be next to each other. So all he had to do was to magnify how much he did and to make it just a little bit bigger to get them all.

Perfect.

With the help of the archers and the use of his traps they were able to take down the leaders. The Myrdraal. It was not easy but it worked out in the end. All through the night they fought with them trying to take them down. By morning they were down and the Trollocs ran away leaving their wounded and dead behind.

The Lady of Justice. This would take time. Did he have that time? There was no one around to answer his question. At first it seemed next to impossible to complete this task that was before him.

He did noticed one thing though, there were stones on the ground all over. He could use those stones to balance the weight of the scales and retrieve his number. Air would be his tool. Stone after stone was placed upon the scales until it was finally balanced back out and the number sixty-one showed up in blood on the statues forhead.

Keron's Tavern. That was what the sign read on the building in front of him. He knew this place. He was back in his home village again and this was the place that he worked at for a couple of years before leaving for the Tower. He had grown up with the owners son and daughter.

Deek walked through the door and into the inn to find that nothing about it had changed since the day that he left it. All the people were still having a great time and all of the workers still loved working their jobs. The cooks were still making the best food he had ever tasted.

In the corner he spotted a young man eating his dinner. Something stood out about this man. Deek noticed the bag next to him. The top was open and there was a book inside of it. That book was one that Deek had lent out to this man a week ago. The book was on customs and traditions of the Andor Nation. No wonder he would find the lad here.

Walking over to the lad, he pulled his hood off and sat down at the table with him. Looking directly at the lad, not moving or talking. He only waited for the lad to respond to him being there.

The lad finally looked up. "Who do you think you are just coming to this table and staring at me. Cant you see that I am eating. You have no idea who you are disturbing..." He trailed off as he finally made eye contact with Deek. His eyes got wide and his face went blank. Maybe he thought it to just be some villager.

His voice was a low rasp with no emotions or expresions of any kind. "Nice to see you too Soldier Heron. I hope that you are enjoying your meal. I would not want to disturb your oh so busy schedule. Oh, do not try to run away now for I have already told the guards to watch for you to run. They will stop you as soon as you try to run away, so as you can see it is not worth it."

The lad could not move anyone. The understanding of the kind of trouble he was in had finally set in. "I am sorry that I ran away. It was just to hard doing all that stuff from day to day and everything being so strict. I dont see how you did it."

A smile crossed Deek's face for a moment before it was gone again. "I guess you dont do to much research huh? If you had then you would have noticed that I have left the Tower twice unannounced. I ran away twice. But I have come back both times. My reasons for leaving were nothing like yours now are. Mine were about family. Yours is all about your selfishness. That is something that you do not want to have in life. Trust me on that. Now it is time for you to come back to the Tower with me. Finish your meal and then we leave."

AFter the first couple of times of going through these test things seemed to blend together. One test after another and another. There was no end to it. Deek did not mind doing these test since these helped him to make sure he was ready for anything that was going to come at him. He wanted to know that he could do whatever it took to get his job done. Though not many people knew that he had two jobs. One for the Brown and one for the Black.

The lightning was just another part of the test and he would not let that stop him now. Nothing would stop him now. There was nothing that they could through at him that could possibly stop him. He had made it this far.

The number appeared, fifty-four. The blood that it was in made it seem strange in the lighting that was all around him.

He wove together the Indigo weave for identifying objects. He wove together earth and spirit into a ball, and then wrapped the ball with air, fire, and water. This was a weave that would help you to know what the object did.

The sun was so hot on this day. There were no clouds in the sky. He knew that if the sun continued like this then the crops would die and there would be no food for the villagers. There had to be a way to stop this and make it rain.

He was sent here by the Tower. The Indigo Ajah was full up on assignments and missions and did not have anyone to send so they figured that a scholar was the next best one to send out for something like this.

Deek entered the town only to be rushed by a man with a statuette. "Please take this from me sir. Ever since i received this statuette the sun has not gone away. We have not gotten one drop of rain for four days now. If we do not get rain soon then the crops will die and my family will starve. Please take this from me."

Extending his hands Deek took up the statuette and examind it. Alyona Sedai had made a mention of these before. He had heard her tell him about what these did. This one was a rain statuette. If in the wrong hands it would either rain for a long time or not rain at all. This time it was the latter.

Deek began to weave flows of Air, Fire, and Water into the statuette. Moments after doing so the clouds came in and it began to rain and water the crops. A smile slid across his face at the humor that he found in the little things that were done with the source.

Brown Ajah Weave

A thought passes through his mind as the pages in the ancient book begin to crumble. THe light in this place in slight but enough to see to the floor. Deek slams the book on the ground forcing it open to the page with the numbe. Blood red number on the page reads eleven.

He quickly wove together a globe of fire and air, dotted with spots of spirit. It wasa weave that would allow him to read at night in his room when he was a soldier.

The table was an old one with a dark wood stain to it. The book, on the other hand, seemed ancient. By some of the words in the page Deek could tell that it was a book on different types of wards and protection weaves. This was something that he was most interested in learning about. This was his area of study while being a Brown here in the Library.

The boot steps coming up behind him was his indication that he was no longer alone in this part of the library. "Deek, I am sorry to bother you but could you lend me a hand please. I am searching for a book that talks about an old talent and I can not find it here. I was told that it might be in the basement but you are the one that helped to organize all those books. I do not know the filing system for it. Could you please give me a hand with it."

A smile slid onto his face for a second and then left. "Yes I will help you with that." He set his book down and then led her to the basement. He knew that if he wanted to then he could dispose of her and no one would know. They would not find the body for months. But it was not like him to just kill for no reason. She posed no threat to him and she had not done anything that Lucan would have killed her for.

Hours it seemed like went by before he finally found the row that the book should be in. During the mix of everything he had found a couple more books on Warding that he wanted to read. Finally he found her book and gave it to her. They made their way back up the stairs out of the basement and he went back to his reading.

The parchment was something that Deek had to look through every day in the Library. He had found a lot of important information about Warding while looking through parchment rolls.

The tet seemed to be confusing though. A peace treaty between two nations. Why would they send this to a Brown. Oh yeah, this is back in the real world. I should look for the number. Everything was starting to blend together. There were times that he could not tell whether it was the stairs or the fake world.

Finally the number was there in blood as always. 93. He dropped the parchment and began the weave. He made the cone of air and fire and then laced earth through the cone. This weave would allow you to encrypt any text on a parchment or something likewise.

For a moment Deek thought that he had fallen off the battlements again. His head was aching so bad. The two men in front of him would not stop shouting and yelling at each other about something that Deek knew was not that big a deal.

They were yelling about soldiers burglarizing towns along their borders. Deek knew that it was not this big a deal. They did not have to yell right in front of him about this. It was an easy matter to fix but they would not settle down long enough for him to get a word in.

His voice was no longer a low rasp. Deek knew how to make his voice thunderouse and loud. "SILENCE" That was all that he had to say for them to both stop and look at him like they had nt done a single thing wrong. "First off you two do not need to be yelling about this when you are not more than five feet away from each other. And more so since I am standing right here and I now have a head ache. Neither of you will have a trial for these soldiers. The trial will be held here. We do not hold any sway towards one or the other so we are the best to have the trial. That is the finally decision. Have a nice day."

The floor just vanished before his eyes. He knew that the logic Ajah would do something different but he did not think they would do this. He should have seen this coming. To get through this you would have to use logic to figure out where to move next. several times he thought that he was going to fall before he finally made his way to the other side and saw the number 73 on the wall. He began to weave together spirit, fire, and earth as fast as possible. This weave would allow the user to see through any illusions that someone else had woven.

Deek had taught many classes during his time here at the Tower. Never before had he met a student that did not want to take the notes and thought that they knew every answer that there was on the subject. This subject was the Age of Legends class that he had been teaching for almost a year now. There were still things that he did not even know about it and there always would be. No one could ever know all the answers.

"I understand that you beleive that you know everything that there is to know on this subject but I assure you that not even the Library has all the information on this matter. There is one of two ways that this can go. Either you can write a ten page paper on this subject noting everything of importance down to the people that first did those things. Or you can take you notes like you have been asked to. And I will tell you right now that I can not even do that paper and get remotly close to covering everything that there is to know."

The student just stared at Deek. After another moment she looked around and then took her seat and continued to take her notes as instructed.

The Three Oaths

You kneel in front of the M'Hael. Although his face does not move, you get the impression that he is smiling gently. You notice upon the cushion the Keeper carries rests the Oath Rod. The M'Hael reaches out and picks the Oath Rod up from the cushion. The smooth ivory white cylinder appears to be only a foot long and as think as the Amyrlin's wrist. You remember from your training that the Oath Rod is a ter'angreal that will bind you to the Oaths, and thus to the Tower and the Flame and the Fang.

You promptly raise your hands in front of you, palms upward. And Aric places the Rod there. The glow of saidan surrounds him, and he touches the Oath Rod with a thin flow of Spirit. You close your hands around the Rod, it feels like glass, except somehow smoother.

"Repeat after me. Under the Light, by my hope of salvation and rebirth I swear to speak no word that is untrue."

His voice was a silent rasp of calmness and emotionless. "Under the Light, by my hope of salvation and rebirth I swear to speak no word that is untrue."

After the Oath is finished you feel it settle on you like a second skin. You can still think a lie but your tongue will not work to produce it.

"Under the Light and by my hope of salvation and rebirth, I vow to make no weapon with which one man may kill another."

"Under the Light and by my hope of salvation and rebirth, I vow to make no weapon with which one man may kill another."

The Oath settles and your skin feels tighter, as though you have been sewn into an invisible garment much too tight, that is molded from the crown of your head to the souls of your feet.

"Under the Light and by my hope of salvation and rebirth, I vow never to use the One Power as a weapon except against Shadowspawn, in the last defence of my own life, that of my Warder, or that of another Brother or Sister of the Grey Tower."

"Under the Light and by my hope of salvation and rebirth, I vow never to use the One Power as a weapon except against Shadowspawn, in the last defence of my own life, that of my Warder, or that of another Brother or Sister of the Grey Tower."

The garment shrinks to still greater snugness. You try to breath through your nose, clamping your jaws so it doesn't come out as a gasp. Invisible and utterly flexible, but oh so tight! You realize the feeling will fade, but not completely for a whole year. It will be another four years until you have the ageless face.
