Forbidding crags,
A dragon's roar,
The shrieking maiden within.
A darkened cave,
And leering skulls.
A rasp of steel,
Shining blades,
The heat of the mighty Wyrm's fire.
Shields are raised,
The battle is joined.
The Wyrm defeated,
The battle won,
And Good triumphs o'er evil
The maiden rescued,
A kingdom saved.
The people rejoice,
And king rewards,
The maiden is given to wed.
And happily
Ever after.
Stalwart Knights,
Shining armor,
And powerful Wizards a'plenty.
Storybook lands,
Treasure filled halls,
In such is a great adventure
The golden ring,
A single kiss,
The tears of family, the cheers of friends.
The blushing maid,
A hail of rice.
A new home,
A new life,
Learning by faith, day by day.
Settling in,
Loving them more.
A baby's wail
In early morn,
And baby food coating the floor.
Diapers are changed,
And tantrums played out.
Riding a bike,
Homework at six,
And learning to drive a car
Rebellion in teens,
Respect with age.
Clad in gown,
And cap of black,
Marching to a familiar tune.
Tears are shed,
As they stand proud.
Moving out,
The engagement ring,
The blessed day finally comes.
A sweet I do,
And tears of joy.
In such is the greatest adventure.
