This place was strange, unfamiliar, not at all how she remembered. And yet it was the same place. How could that be?

Two days ago she had ridden out of these same gates, yet now they held a different feel. Two days, and her world seemed changed, drastically changed. Two days ago she had left in the company of an Aes Sedai, assigned by the Master of Training as an escort, as a pretend-Warder, a Warder-in-training, precisely what she was. Jip Gaidin had meant she would be suited, probably since the mission was of such a non-dangerous form. It should have been a simple mission, be company and keep an eyes on an Aes Sedai while she studied some stone construct. It had been a simple task, everything going to plan. And yet something had gone wrong, something the Aes Sedai did, it must have been. It gave her a sense of deja vu. It reminded her too much of something that happened two years earlier.

Two years ago she had ridden out of these same gates, on the same horse, in company of another Aes Sedai, one she hadn’t seen since. The mission had been another, her task the same; to be traveling companion, and to help and keep an eye on the Aes Sedai while she travelled to the local villages to teach them how to defend themselves.

She couldn’t remember the details anymore, but something had gone wrong on the road between two villages. They were ambushed by a band of bandits, more then the two of them could handle. Backed up near a stone construct, the Aes Sedai had done something to keep the bandits from reaching them while ordering her to help keeping them at a distance with her bow. And then the Aes Sedai had done something with the stones. She had never understood these channelers and what they did. But something must’ve gone wrong. She didn’t know what, she must’ve been knocked unconscious during it.

She could remember waking up in a village, the woman tending her telling her she had been found near the strange stone close to their village. None of the villagers knew anything about the Aes Sedai though; she never found out what happened to her. And when she returned, no one questioned her about it, or seemed to know what she was talking about. So she wrote it off as a dream, or some other weird stuff.

Until now. The two stones had been too similar for it to be a dream. She had even recognized one of the symbols of the stone two days ago, and she had pointed that out to the Aes Sedai. Maybe that was where it had gone wrong? She didn’t know these channeler things, but maybe she ought to learn.

She had a least gotten a name for the strange stones now, Portal Stones, though exactly what that meant the Aes Sedai hadn’t been too clear about.

And now the Aes Sedai had left her here, just inside the gates of the Grey Tower, heading straight to the Tower itself while leaving her to take care of the horses. Something was not right, and she needed to figure out what, now.

Handing the horses over to a servant, she headed to the Warder Yards to find Jip Gaidin, hoping the Master of Training had some answers.
