The cold rain pounded down around her as her horse pulled up short of the Tower gates. It was a day just like the one in which she had arrived. But this time curiosity was replaced by something else she couldn't quite put a finger on. Apprehension perhaps. She had been gone from the Grey Tower for far too long, having left her duties as Mistress of Novices and Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah mostly behind her.

She knew the adjustment period might be longer this time then when she was had been an Accepted. Her years of traveling through the country had left her looking slightly worn and tired despite the use of the One Power to keep her features looking the same. Her serenity was there and from the couple of wrinkles around her eyes her intelligence and no nonsense attitude shone out.

Her days as Mistress would be over and she could settle back into Tower life with ease. The only thought that made her smile was getting to talk to Riven again. She had missed him terribly these long years and her son sitting next to her had been a constant reminder of his father.

The rain slowly dripped from her hood as she turned to him and said softly, "We have returned home, my son. It won't be long now."

"Of course, Mother," He said, "Will we be seeing Father shortly?"

She nodded her head, "We will see him in due time. But first I expect a report will need to be made in front of the M'Hael, Amyrlin Seat, and the entire Hall. Maybe then we will see your father."

The man nodded his head beside her and straightened his black coat and sat up to reveal his full height.

Both mother and son kicked at their horses flanks and walked their horses up to the gate.
