Biography

Dru is a loner, for the most part. He has no family left, and he has been left to fend for himself. The fact that he has no pigment, an albino, which renders his skin and hair white, his eyes light grey-blue, separates him from the rest of the world, because he is a 'freak'. Dru's mother died while giving birth to him, and one of his older brothers was killed by Darkfriends. His other brother disappeared, since locals claimed that he could channel, and that he was a Darkfriend. Just months later, Dru and his father received word that his brother had gone insane, and had killed himself. Dru's father, Jon, was a member of the Queen’s Guard in Caemlyn. Dru learned a great deal about the Queen's Guard, and desired to join when he was old enough. Jon was killed in a skirmish with the Children of the Light when Dru was thirteen. Some of the Commanders in the Queen's Guard that had known Dru's father took Dru under their wing, allowing him to live, eat, and train with the Guard. Dru wasn't an official member, but he was pretty much considered one.

He was seduced into a forest by an Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah, where her Warder, an Asha'man of the Blue Ajah, left Dru with no choice but to come to the Grey Tower. Dru didn’t believe the channelers when they told him that he could channel. Dru’s personal belief is that channelers are freaks, but he agreed to go to the Grey Tower to train as a GiT. He was rejected from that when the Tower learned that he could channel, and he was enrolled as a Soldier. His only personal belonging is his quarterstaff.
