Brynmor Brook is an Andoran Gaidin of the Grey Tower.

Bryn is a man of good height and breadth, well honed from his many years as a lord’s sword-arm and then as a Gaidin. At first glance, he is not a man that one would immediately call especially handsome though neither would they call him ugly. His face, comprised of sharp lines and angles, is intent by nature but it’s the sharp blue eyes that stand out most.

He keeps his face clean-shaven, and his black hair short.

Like many, he is one who becomes more attractive upon further acquaintance, and especially when he smiles. Bryn may not always be the first in a situation to smile, but when he does, it was worth the wait.

In terms of personality, he is a quiet man. He tends to wait until his words are needed before offering them, but that’s not to say he is a man lacking in them. He is an intelligent and well-read man, and he always wishes that when he talks, he is saying something worth hearing. He is a man of great patience, strong will, and a drive to always better himself. (He is sure that it is a quest that will only be completed when he dies, but he’s alright with that.)

His dedication to service and being of use stems from a path to redemption. Not that he tells many people this, of course, but he knows it.

Brynmor Brook was born the illegitimate son of a lord of a minor Andoran house, who was granted his father’s name and the finances to not starve, if little else. His mother, however, was a loving woman who took excellent care of him. She did not love Bryn’s father a great deal, but being even the mistress of a lord brought with it benefits and safety to her life that she would not have had otherwise.

He was educated well, and trained to be able to fight. By the time he was a young man, his father arranged for him a term of service with a fellow lord.

Over the next few years, Bryn served Lord Owin well. He became a skilled combatant and good at taking orders, though Owin changed over that time. Tasks seemed to grow into increasingly morally grey areas and Bryn followed orders for a time, until he realized that it had gone too far and he took a stand.

Lord Owin was not best pleased, to say the least, and Brynmor bore the brunt of it.

The next day, he terminated his service and informed his father that it was over. However, he did not wish to return home, and so he instead chose a new path and chose to offer his service to a place larger than the simple days of being a lord’s man. He chose to sign the Drin books and became a trainee at the Grey Tower.

His training and experience over the years gave him an edge, and he did well. Eventually, he reached the rank of Gaidin and provides his aid to anyone who has need of it. He has yet to find a channeler to commit his life to, but he is contented to serve whoever needs him.
