Averus al'Gant is an Andoran Dedicated of the Grey Tower.

Description

Averus is of part Domani descent, so his skin is the typical coppery-color of that nation, though his accent is that of Andor. He stands at 6'1", with piercing blue eyes. Since the time he left the Tower, he has acquired a few scars (mental and physical), most noticeably the long white scar along the left side of his face, put there by a blade wielded by his own mother. On top of that, he has retreated into himself; lost the passion of his youth. He is, simply put, cold. After losing the most important people in his life to the Dark One, he has acquired a newfound hatred of all evil, a blinding rage that may lead to its own problems. He clings desperately to logic still, trying to find something to lean on, but he finds no solace in the cold embrace of reason.

Biography

The son of a minor Andoran noblewoman, who resides in a small palace, Averus was raised with patience, and love. He knows little of the Game of Houses, however, as his mother had never needed it, herself. She had always been in good standing with Morgase's house, so that, combined with her old age and wisdom, earned her respect. Fauline al'Gant so admired the Trakand house that she felt it a good idea to follow their example and send Ave off to train with the channelers. However, she sent Ave to the Grey Tower, instead of the White, since it was closer, in case Ave would have to return quickly to the city.

For all intents and purposes, Ave's record is spotless: he has never taken part in anything illicit or illegal, just like his mother expects. The servant's of his mother's House know better, though. Ave's temper tantrums are nearly the thing of legend among the servants of Camelyn. He is selfish and petty, lacking a generous bone in his whole body. In his defense, though, he is very ambitious, and driven. He never gives up, whatever he decides to do.

His main goal at the Grey Tower is to complete the training as quickly as he can, and return to his mother. As much as he has no heart for anyone else, his mother holds a sacred spot in his heart. And with her age beginning to take its toll, he feels he must finish here at the Tower as soon as he can, whatever his mother might say about her having things arranged properly. He is not so much eager to learn as he is eager to get things done. So, his ambition, at the moment, is limited to doing hte minimum amount of work that he can, so he can quickly return and take care of his mother's affairs, when she passes on.
