Nationality Taraboner

Abron Mar (born Abron Marhad) is a Taraboner Ji'val of the Grey Tower.

Description

Not so much a traveler as he is a thief, Abron Mar thinks himself to be a perfectionist, when in fact, he is the exact opposite. He enjoys the company of others, but prefers to travel on his own. He has a great sense of humor, and is easily amused, but at times he can be crude and even clumsy. He has good intentions and can be crafty and sly, but in his past, those intentions were often tempted to turn evil.

Abron is quite tall for a Taraboner, almost bulky with muscles, and is often seen wearing strange clothes. A red head band dotted with golden stones, an article he acquired from his journeys, is almost always worn around his head, keeping dirty blond hair out of his large, dark eyes. His long yet handsome face attracts many glances from women, and he has a tattoo of a snake coiled around a dagger on his left shoulder.

Biography

Abron Mar, once Abron Marhad, was born into a once-prosperous family of merchants and traders in Tanchico. However, trade began to decline as riots and wars wracked the world. Abron's mother died, at the age of 32, when Abron was just six. The family was devastated over her loss. Soon after that, Abron's younger sisters, Ajora left to live in Andor, a long and dangerous journey in the eyes of young Abron.

Trade declined even further, and riots were an almost every-day occurrence in the city. Abron realized that his family would soon be living in poverty. However, the situation got much worse. A footpad's knife found its way into his older sister's side, and she did not live long after. His father was devastated by the occurrence, and took ill, surviving his daughter by only a few months.

Alone in Tanchico, having little more to do than run a ruined business, Abron decided he would escape Tarabon while he could. Taking what little gold that was left in his father's big oak chest, a plain, foot-long dagger, and a grey, worn, wool traveler's cloak, he set out towards Andor, leaving his house to the mercy of the numerous thieves and rioters roaming the streets.

Changing his name from Marhad to Mar, so that the few people who might recognize him would not, he found that, with his height, which was tall for a Taraboner, his slyness, and his survival instinct, a life as a thief was all too easy to resort to. His dagger and his dangerously dark eyes were his only means of food and shelter.

He stole a horse, and began to work his way North, towards the Mountains of Mist so as to avoid passing through Amador, which was very tough on thieves. He planned to search for his sister, one in Andor, but he soon found that coin was becoming harder and harder to come by. Eventually, he could not even feed his horse, and had to abandon it. A little while after that, he could not even manage to feed himself, and he began to grow dangerously thin.

However, he managed to survive the treacherous crossing of the Mountains of Mist to find himself in the Two Rivers, where he was given hot meals and shelter. He soon learned of Aes Sedai, Asha'man, and, most of all, Warders in great detail. Working for coin on a farm in Watch Hill, he picked up a sword, with full intention to learn it at the Grey Tower, which rumor placed in the nearby Mountains of Mist. At the age of 20, he bought a horse and set out in search of the Tower, choosing to use his skills for the Light and not the Shadow. He was still determined to find his sister one day, but he was even more grimly determined to become a Warder.
